Fighting panic attacks and self-loathing, he tries to find a place on his team and to come to terms with his traumatic past. Benji Bryzinski is a rookie with a heart of gold from a lower-class background. He'll do anything from yoga to therapy to tame his anger issues, earn his place in the league, and make himself indispensable to his teammates, including Olly. When Olly and Benji are put together as roommates, they must overcome anxiety and self-imposed isolation to heal and grow together. VERDICT The perfect novel for a hockey fan who loves M/M romance; it's full of hockey-culture details, as well as exciting action on the ice, and Nary excels at describing the bodily experiences of athletics, anxiety, and desire. All of these elements, combined with slow-burning chemistry between the two leads, build to a satisfying and well-earned happy ending.--Sierra Wilson
